Pairing: HoMin (Main), YunJae (Side)
Warnings: Unbeta'd, just a little angst, and bad smut
Disclaimer: Inspired in the movie by the same name, but with twists.
Summary: Yunho meets Changmin, a young man that could be more than just friends with him...if only he could forget Jaejoong.
It was almost unbearable, really. Both Kyuhyun and Junsu didn’t really know what to do. Changmin was indeed a very dear friend to them, but the young man had been acting too bitchy and sensitive for the past 4 days that, by mere coincidence, happened to be the days since Changmin had seen Yunho with Jaejoong at the restaurant.
The young man denied with every fiber of his being that he was extremely jealous, when it was more than obvious that he was. That and Yunho not having contacted Chagmin at all, was taking a toll on Changmin’s friends, well, on every person in contact with the guy.
That was exactly why Junsu didn’t know if to call Yunho or kill him, but it was a fact that something had to be done. He didn’t really want to intervene in his friend’s personal problems, but this just couldn’t keep on like it had.
Kyuhyun had been brave enough to tell Changmin to fuck off once, and he even told his friend that he could come back to share the apartment with him again if he wanted to, which had caused Changmin to bitch about the pizza they had ordered, with watering eyes.
Both Junsu and Kyuhyun endured the whole ordeal because they knew it was the only way that Changmin would let it out somehow. It didn’t matter if the boy was deeply wounded on the inside he would never accept that, more so if it had to do with someone else. They knew that Changmin was probably hating himself for foolishly falling in love.
“Maybe we should call Yunho,” Junsu suggested, as Kyuhyun almost choked on his coke.
“And die by Changmin’s hands?” Kyuhyun replied in a low voice since Changmin had just gone to give Taepoong and Mangdong their food while they were in the living room of Junsu’s place. “But, seriously…I don’t think we should get in between. It’s kinda their problem, even if we’re suffering from it somehow.”
Junsu huffed and nodded. “You’re right.”
“I’m always right,” Kyuhyun said with a smirk. “But we should make it clear for Changmin that we’re with him no matter what.”
Junsu was about to say something else when the doorbell rang, and some knocks were heard after that. “Did you guys order something to eat while I wasn’t here?” Junsu asked, getting up and walking towards the door. Kyuhyun shook his head and Junsu opened the door.
There, standing right before him was Yunho. The same Yunho he kinda wanted to kick for making his friend suffer.
“Hi, Junsu! Is Changmin here?” Yunho asked in a nervous tone. “I know you and he must be angry at me, but I need to talk to him.”
“Angry is an understanding, but yeah he is here. He’s actually feeding the dogs,” Junsu replied. “Come in. I’ll call him,” he added as he stepped aside and let Yunho in.
He didn’t know if it was good or bad, but before he could even call for Changmin, the guy was right there, looking at an anxious Yunho as Taepoong started to move his tail energetically, jumping at his owner.
Yunho kneeled down and pet his dog, smiling at him tenderly as he told the animal how much he had miss him. Then, he looked up at Changmin, who was still standing there, and got up. “I need to talk to you,” he stated.
Changmin sighed and nodded, watching how now it was Mangdong who was at Yunho’s feet, looking up, and begging to be petted as well.
Yunho smiled down at her and got down again to carry her in his arms. He was about to talk when Junsu and Kyuhyun walked past them hastily.
“Uhm… I just remembered that Junsu made me promise I would walk the dogs with him,” Kyuhyun said, looking at Changmin as Junsu started to gather the dogs’ leashes. The murder gaze that Changmin was throwing him didn’t go unnoticed, but he just ignored it.
“Well…yeah,” Junsu mumbled, after putting the leashes on the dogs. “See you!” He exclaimed, waving at the other two and leaving the place, right after Kyuhyun had done the same.
The front door was closed and for some awkward seconds, there was only silence. Yunho had his eyes fixed on the floor, feeling nervous and embarrassed, and everything in between by just standing there, in front of Changmin, the two of them alone.
“Well… first of all I think I should apologize,” Yunho started, finally gathering courage enough to look at Changmin in the eyes. “I’m sorry I haven’t contacted you at all,” he added, feeling braver. “And well, I know Taepoong is not so easy to handle. I hope he hadn’t caused you any trouble.”
Changmin sighed. “Don’t worry. He hadn’t been the one causing trouble around here,” he said, turning to walk towards the kitchen. “Want something to drink?” He asked Yunho, as he motioned him with a hand to come with him. “Because I think I need a beer right now.”
“I would like one, too,” Yunho replied, feeling extremely bad because he just hated how cold their conversation was. He had always been the sentimental one, and he seriously wanted to cry right there.
Changmin opened the fridge and took out to cans of beer. He closed the door and turned to give Yunho the cold can before leaning back on the counter. He had barely opened the can to take a sip of his beer, when he watched how the other just lost it.
Yunho put the can away and approached Changmin trapping him between his arms as he put them at his sides on the counter. Their faces were too close to Changmin’s liking and Yunho pressed their forehead together. “I’ve missed you so so much,” he whispered desperately, this time putting his hands on each side of Changmin’s waist.
Changmin froze for a minute, before putting his free hand over Yunho’s chest, ready to push him away in any moment. “Why are you here, Yunho? What do you want?” He asked in a serious tone, his eyes never leaving Yunho’s.
Yunho grabbed Changmin’s hand from his chest and took a step back. “I need to talk to you about my divorce,” he started hesitantly. Changmin’s face showed confusion, but he nodded for him to keep on, so he did just that. “I had been talking non-stop with my lawyer and Jaejoong’s lawyer and Jaejoong, and there is no way the process could be sped up. I already made the petition of divorce and I had to prove that Jaejoong and I hadn’t been living together for a long time, but the process is gonna take more than 2 weeks. My lawyer said it’s gonna take like 6 months at least, and that is counting that Jaejoong isn’t opposing to anything. Still, we’re setting the agreement about our properties, which aren’t that much but, well…” Yunho bit his lower lip. “I love you so so much, Changmin. You have no idea how much you mean to me, and I don’t wanna lose you, but the process it’s gonna take too much, and I know I probably don’t deserve it, but please, please I ask for more time. I will do whatever it takes, but please give me more time. I’ll show you the papers, and I’ll call my lawyer, or you can come with me when we have a meeting with Jaejoong and his lawyer, but please, don’t give up on me!” He practically begged, holding Changmin’s hand tightly, fearing that he was going to be pushed away.
Changmin looked at him for a couple of seconds, trying to think about what Yunho had just said. He really didn’t know what to do. He felt extremely jealous of Jaejoong, he was afraid that Yunho would come back to him at any time, deciding that Changmin wasn’t enough for him anymore. Still, at the same time, Changmin wanted to just throw himself at Yunho, because Yunho had always been honest to him, he knew Yunho was actually divorcing, and he knew or could at least imagine that yes, divorce process didn’t take days or weeks, but months and sometimes even years. Part of him felt insecure and afraid, and the other part of him thought he was just making things over dramatic and too complicated when it wasn’t that way at all.
Yunho was becoming more and more nervous as minutes of silence passed and Changmin didn’t utter a single word, or any kind of sound. Maybe what the other time was more time to think. After all, the whole divorce process, the fight with Changmin, and everything was overwhelming to him at times, so he could definitely understand if the boy was confused or overwhelmed as well.
He reluctantly let go of Changmin hand and was about to step back even more when Changmin threw his hands over Yunho’s shoulders, grabbing the back of his head to pull him in for a searing kiss.
The kiss was desperate and messy, but at the same time it was longing and loving. Yunho pushed Changmin slightly, backwards against the counter, and pressed their bodies together, enjoying how the pleasure sounds that were caught in the younger man’s throat.
“Say something,” Yunho demanded, after he reluctantly broke the kiss. It was awesome that Changmin had kissed him, but still he needed to know what Changmin had to say, what he thought of all this, and were he stood in this relationship. “Please.”
Changmin closed his eyes and let out a low groan. “I really don’t know what I feel or what I should do,” he confessed, opening his eyes to look at the man in front of him. “I love you, Yunho. Part of me wants to just be with you. I know you’re honest and wouldn’t hurt me willingly in any way, but still, other part of me tells me you’re not divorced and what we do is still wrong because I am not your husband. I feel like the third person and sometimes I feel like maybe you would just go back to Jaejoong as most guys that have affairs do.”
“You’re not an affair, Changmin,” Yunho stated, putting his hands on Changmin’s hips. “I admit that I loved Jaejoong very much, but that is only in the past. He is just a nice memory. You, on the other hand, you are my present and I want you to be my future. Jaejoong were, but we can’t be anymore,” he explained as he closed the space between them to unite their lips.
Changmin pushed him away. “You’re turning me into a hideous corny person. I hate you,” he declared with a smirk on his face. “And yes, I guess I can give you more time, but I still wanna see those papers signed when all that shit about the divorce is over, ok?”
Yunho nodded and he kissed him again. After all they had time before Junsu and Kyuhyun would come back with their dogs, and he was so going to take advantage of that.
